Team Real Racing

I made an early call time even earlier by showing up an hour before I was supposed to. *smacks head* At least I wasn’t an hour late! And thankfully, the weather was nice and cool for some outdoor drums. The Off-Road Expo is an annual gathering where hundreds of manufacturers and retailers showcase parts, equipment, and gear to thousands of off-road enthusiasts. Its California home is the Pomona Fairplex, which is best known to locals as the home of the LA County Fair. To describe the Off-Road Expo to musicians, I say it’s like NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants). Anybody?

Our client, Team Real Racing, participates in both off-road and road racing, and loaded an impressive fleet in for attendees to see. I’m sure the bright, teal trucks drew a lot of attention, but I don’t think anyone was expecting to see or hear a drumline! With our custom shirts on and soft vinyl stickers attached to the drums, we paraded around the fairgrounds, chanting “Team! Real! Racing!” and playing our typical repertoire. It seemed that most were receptive to the volume, but maybe the roaring automotive engines won.
